Trouble thats been Brewing

OK so i didn't want to start the blog with a negative but there has been a lot of trouble in Thailand that has been playing on my mind, between the PAD (People's Alliance for Democracy.) and the present Government, now i don't want to get political but it seems to me that PAD aren't happy with their current society, for people that aren't aware i believe there is a high level of corruption in Thailand.

Yet the current Government has a massive following in the more rural parts of Thailand which is were the majority of their votes come from, basically the PAD doesn't agree with the current Government and are demonstrating ( allegedly peaceably) saying they want the current government out and have been demanding his resignation.
Now while I'm sure these people feel whole hearted about their issues however in a Democracy there is a democratic process to be followed and this is not only illegal but undermines the democratic process as its a case of whoever shouts loudest, and no matter how relevant their issues maybe the route the have taken has undermined any respect i would have for them.

Time To Move On

Time to move on indeed, well after always wondering what it would be like to live in Canada ( especially since my mum and sister moved out there years ago) Helen and i moved to Edmonton 3 months ago.

* Background OK Helen is my beautiful good lady

See, Now Helen and i hooked up together after meeting via a Internet dating website which in itself isn't that odd, what is slightly odd though is that Helen not only worked in the same industry, but also worked with some of my friends.
It was one easy way to make sure she wasn't a bunny boiler Come on Guys you know where I'm coming from and to be fair I'm sure gave her some peace of mind knowing i wasn't the Boston Strangler.

Anyway back on track as i was saying we decided to try our hand after things were coming to a head at work for us both Helen was a bit fed up after a couple of years in the Car Sales Industry and i well, after almost 10 years to say i was sick of hitting targets and deadlines, motivating my teams after just being screamed at by the area manager. and then having the most grossly incompetent man in the world, above me and i was supposed to put up with carrying him. Just in case anyone knows him Hi Ken Doherty From Hesketh Bank, you have the prestigious honour of not only being the worst manager Ive ever had the misfortune to work with, but also you were one of the reasons that started this phase of my life so in some way i suppose i kinda owe you (god knows how that works but hey)
We Decided to strike out and try for a new life in Canada, Now perhaps we were both a little naive when we set out, I'll explain Helen's Overall impression was that Canada was going to be just like the USA , and after holidaying in America a awful lot she thought she would love it.
Meanwhile i, well i kinda figured that we'd make new friends with no hassle, little did i know how isolated you are when you are out in a rather picturesque neighbourhood where every one lives on acreages. But you nearest Supermarket is almost 30km your Internet is off more than is on and at night there is the grand total of jack all to do.

Aww

So after a few late night chats, we decided this wasn't what we wanted either ( hard to please eh?) but we were both in agreement we didn't want to go straight back to England either, even though it had been nice having not worked for 3 months and catching up with all my family including my kid sister and her husband Mike and their gorgeous baby Aylah

Aylah

So after some deliberation, we decided to backpack through South East Asia and then go back home when we were broke, and that i guess brings me up to current day in the count down to our flight on the 9th Sept to Phuket, where our legs will take us from there god only knows.

I do know one thing though, i intend to enjoy every minute.
