Wish You Were Here?
Going down the mountain was alot easier than going up,and we were feeling quite smug and proud of our prowess until halfway down we saw a guy who must have been about 80 and when we were talking to him he explained he lived at the top of the mountain and he climbed it every day needless to say we didn't feel smug or proud anymore.
Later that afternoon I started to come down with a temperature, by teatime I could hardly move and had deep pains in all my joints and it felt like someone was pushing knitting needles through my muscles and to top it all off I had the mother of all headaches.
Fortunately we had been speaking to Leah a few nights previous and she had explained she had Dengue Fever a few weeks before. All the symptoms she described were the same as I was suffering from and they got more severe over the following couple of days. Even though at this point Helen was still a bit sceptical that I had Dengue and thought it more likely I had "Man Flu".
This morning the fourth day of fever we went to the hospital for blood tests and had it confirmed and are now required to go back for another two tests. Hopefully if the tests come back okay we should be able to continue on our travels to Railay as we are already a week behind schedule as it stands.
I'll be back.....
