So we said our fond fair wells to Jenny our local Thai girl who ran the guest house where we had stayed for our final week on Phi-Phi and had taken it upon herself to visit me every day whilst i was ill, and we bade Leah farewell, one regret i have from Phi-Phi was not diving and Dengue Fever was the cause behind this, because even now whilst i can lift my back pack and trek, i am still acutely aware that not all my strength is back yet, guess it will take time.

Now this is the point that was starting to unnerve Helen in the count down to our trip and even though we all know i had better Sea Legs than Captain Jack Sparrow (at the very least better legs!) if i was honest maybe even me a touch to, so in a moment of inspiration we struck out for the local pharmacy, upon meeting the Pharmacist to say he was a little bemused is playing it down a little.
Perhaps he struggled with my use of English and didn't really get " Give Me Drugs, Not that herbal shite that all your wanna be Rasta's and hippies want, no just good old fashioned, chemical created, slightly toxic, possibly not good for you, old fashioned drugs"
Anyway after about 5 minutes we left the pharmacy with our little packet of gold,
it was firm victory Man Made Drugs 1 Hippies Herbal stuff 0
Now from what we could gather you were meant to take one a hr before traveling, so Helen full of the pearls of wisdom that she is comments that last time she was at least as twice as sick as everyone else so she's having two, well i couldn't let her have all the fun so i promptly popped 2 as well.
Fast forward to the boat and the water was so calm, it didn't really feel like you were on a boat at all, in fact after 5 minutes i was asleep like a baby, and next thing i woke up and we were there (bloody great journey) Helen hadn't slept but even she felt great.
The View Going Into Hat Rai Leh
Moving In To Ao-Nang
When we disembarked they don't take you to a pier as the water is too shallow, what happens is a long tail comes out from the beach and they load you and your luggage in while still being at sea, not the most relaxing experience Ive ever had especially after coming round from what felt like a dose of enough ketamine to tranquilise all of Canada, yet being acutely aware that you pack contains your laptop and even though I'm not a resident expert on computers, even i know that a laptop and the sea mixing isn't going to be a successful marination.
The Longtail Taxi Boat
Anyway after a successful disembark from our Long tail we landed on the beach and were promptly surrounded by the usual gaggle of touts and taxi drivers, we avoided them like pro's and after choosing one taxi driver who bothered us less than the others we struck out in search for our chosen accommodation, unfortunately i was still tired at this point and had the mental reflexes of a snail so we settled on a a/c room for 550 Baht a night, which when i got up this morning i managed to get them to drop to 400 Baht(damn them drugs they cost me 150 Baht, but at least i wasn't sick i suppose)
